What is a fishing screen and how to make it yourself? Fishing on the screen How to fish on the TV from the shore

Dear fishermen! Earlier on this page there was an article about how to make a TV for fishing or fishing screen do it yourself. But due to the fact that this type of fishing is prohibited by the law of the Russian Federation, we received a letter with the following content:

In accordance with Part 7 of Article 15.1 of the Federal Law of July 27, 2006 No. 149-FZ “On Information, information technology and Information Protection" we notify that on the basis of the decision of the court / authorized federal executive body (Stanovlyansky District Court - Lipetsk Region) dated 19.12. allowing to identify sites on the Internet containing information, the dissemination of which in Russian Federation prohibited”, registry entry number 607031-RI due to the fact that this information contains information, the distribution of which in the Russian Federation is prohibited by a court decision.

Information is posted on the method of manufacturing and upgrading the fishing "TV", which is a prohibited fishing gear and a method of mass destruction of biological resources, recognized as prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation.

From the moment you receive this notice, you must immediately delete information whose distribution is prohibited in the Russian Federation.

I don't even know why so many years have been chasing fishing tackle like fishing TV. You won’t catch a big catch on it, except perhaps on the ear, it doesn’t cause any severe damage to the fish, it doesn’t pollute the ecological environment, in general, the catch is not much different from fishing with a fishing rod or spinning, except that you won’t catch a large catch on a fishing TV, but definitely that fishing in this case will be a great vacation for many.

What is a fishing TV:

  1. Fishing TV is a rectangular or square frame. Its dimensions are usually 1.5 by 1.5 meters or 1.5 meters long and 1.0 meters wide, depending on the depth of the reservoir at the casting site. Many craftsmen select sizes that correspond to previously looked after places.
  2. The upper part of the TV (float) is an ordinary wooden rail or bamboo stick, one and a half meters long. Lacquered to reduce swelling in water. The lower part (weight) is a heavier material so that the screen sinks to the bottom. Most often it is a metal bar.
  3. On the finished frame, the mesh fabric is fixed with a strong thread. At the beginning of a bamboo stick or rail, one end of the thread is fixed, the mesh cells are tied in several places with a nylon thread to the end of the rail. Same with the metal rod.
  4. In the side part of the canvas, a nylon thread or cord runs in a spiral from a bamboo stick to a metal bar, without missing a single cell.
  5. A cord or nylon thread is tied to the upper wooden rail in the middle, to which a foam float is attached, so that you can see the place on the surface of the water where the fishing TV is installed.
    Fishing net is considered to be more catchy than silk thread or twisted rope, but the life of the fishing line net is less than that of the net cloth.

The size of the caught fish depends on the size of the cell, if the cell is 18 mm, then this is a medium-sized catch, such a fish will be good as a bait for a predator. And if 24 mm, then it will be larger. Whatever method you fish with, don't forget to feed your fishing grounds. Then your fishing trip will end with an excellent fish soup and a wonderful dinner in nature. Please do not use prohibited fishing methods such as fishing TV or fishing screen.

Why is it forbidden to use fishing TV:

  1. Refers to methods of mass extermination of biological resources
  2. It kills fish if it is in the water without the supervision of a fisherman, that is, if your fishing screen is carried away by the current, a huge number of fish will suffer, it will simply get stuck and rot alive.

What methods of installing fishing screens are prohibited:

  1. From the shore, when a rope is tied to a stick or pole, with which, after the catch, you can deliver the TV to the shore.
  2. From the boat, when the fishing screen is lowered by a nylon thread with a float to the desired installation location.
  3. Other, all sorts of ways to install screens and catch fish in open water.

It is also forbidden to fish in the holes in the winter, but this method is more often used fishing scarves. The scarf is similar to a TV, but the canvas has a triangular shape and instead of a wooden lath, a float is installed at the top point.

Attention! Fishing TVs and screens are prohibited by the law of the Russian Federation.

A good angler in his arsenal has many varieties of gear, lures and other accessories for any season. fishing. In addition, any professional angler needs to have such a fishing device as a fishing screen in their fishing gear. Many fishermen have known him since early childhood. It is easy to make and does not require a large investment to make it. Since not all fishermen have enough money to buy it in a fishing store, let's see how you can make a homemade fishing screen or, as it is called in another way, a fishing TV, right at home and save your hard-earned money.

In fact, you should not expect a big catch with the help of a fishing screen, but both adult fishermen and children love this device very much. With it, you can catch enough fish in your ear or just fry, but the most important feature of the fishing screen is that it does not pollute the fish habitat, that is, the reservoir, and does not harm the fish. You can catch about the same amount of fish with this device as with a spinning rod or a fishing rod, but the only difference is that you cannot catch large fish with it. After all, the pleasure is not in what kind of fish you catch, but in the very process of fishing.

Materials for a homemade fishing screen

If you haven't changed your mind and still want to make a fishing screen, let's get started. This will require the following materials:

  • float made of foam;
  • a metal bar or, as they call it in another way, a bar;
  • wooden rail;
  • fishing line;
  • mesh fabric;
  • kapron thread or cord.

Stages of manufacturing a fishing screen

  1. To make a fishing screen, you will need a square or rectangular frame. You can choose the sizes by eye. The dimensions depend on the depth of the reservoir and the place where you are going to throw it.
  2. The float or top of the screen is made from a bamboo or wooden stick that needs to be varnished. This process is necessary so that the wooden structure does not swell in water. You can, of course, not varnish, but this can subsequently destroy the structure. The weight or lower part must be made of heavy materials to immerse the screen to the bottom of the reservoir. For the bottom of the fishing screen, you can use a metal bar. Then we cut the canvas from the grid to the size of the prepared frame in the lower and upper parts of the canvas and pull the cord. This must be done on each cell, or at least through one.
  3. When you have a cooked frame, you need to fasten a mesh fabric to it using a strong thread. This is done in the following steps: first, we fix the end of the thread to the bamboo stick, then the mesh cell must be tied in other places with the help of a thread. And so it continues until the mesh canvas is completely fixed to our frame. A similar procedure must be done with a metal twig.
  4. After that, from the side of the canvas, we skip the prepared thread in the form of a spiral, starting from a stick and ending with a bar, while not a single cell can be skipped. This is necessary in order to relieve the tension of the net under water, and during the raising of the net to the surface of the water.
  5. We fix the cord on the stick in the middle, then we hook the float to it, for the manufacture of which foam plastic was used. The presence of a float is necessary in order to know where the fishing screen is located.

On a note: a net made from fishing line is the most catchy compared to a net made from twisted rope, while a net that was made from fishing line has a shorter service life than a net cloth.

When fishing on a fishing screen, it is worth knowing a few tricks, which we will discuss below. The size of the fish caught depends on the size of the cell used. When using a 18 mm cell, a small fish comes across that is suitable for bait when hunting a predator. If you use a 24 mm cell, then there is a chance to catch big fish. Whatever cell you use, you always need to feed the fish, then you will get a good catch for the fish soup and a wonderful outdoor recreation.

Screen fishing is a primitive and illegal tackle, but screen fishing is still considered effective among anglers. The availability of materials and ease of manufacture make this device widespread. Therefore, this tackle is very popular among fish hunters. Let's find out what it is and how to do it?

Among the numerous fishing tools, there are those that are so simple that they do not require special skills or skills. These tools also include a screen or, as it is also called, a TV for catching fish.

This device for fishing consists of the following parts:
  1. Wooden lath or sealed tube.
  2. Square or rectangular grid.
  3. Metal bar-load.
  4. Cord.
  5. float.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated in this gear and it is easy to make it yourself.

Catching fish on the screen is easy and simple. It is enough to throw it into the intended place of parking or feeding fish and after a while get it with a catch.

Despite the fact that tackle is considered poaching, parts for its manufacture can be purchased at the store and made by yourself. This will not take the angler much time.

As already mentioned, the net is bought at a fishing store or a piece is cut off from an old unnecessary net. You also need to find a wooden rail and a metal bar.

In addition, to make a screen with your own hands, you need to have on hand:
  • roulette;
  • scissors and knife;
  • twine or thick fishing line;

Immediately you need to decide on the size of the TV. Usually its dimensions are not more than 1.5 by 1.5 meters. In addition, you need to choose the mesh size of the grid, which should correspond to the fish you plan to catch.

With the help of the screen it is convenient to catch live bait, and for this purpose a smaller mesh size is needed. If the target of the angler is a large fish, the size of the mesh increases accordingly.

When starting to make a TV, you first need to cut the rail to the size of the grid. After that, mark at regular intervals on the rail the points where the “display” of the screen will be mounted. The bar at the bottom of the TV should be equal to the rail in length.

Having drilled holes at the ends of the rail, we attach the mesh to it with a fishing line or a strong synthetic thread. Then we attach the rod to the bottom of the net also with the help of a fishing line. Some use PVC tape to secure the net.

We tie a strong twine or a thick fishing line to the holes at the ends of the rail so that the made screen hangs on it. In the middle of this twine we knit a cord, at the end of which a large foam float is attached. It is needed to indicate the location of the TV, as well as to control the presence of fish on the screen.

Here's how to make a fishing TV with your own hands - simply and with a minimum of costs.

Catching fish on the TV is not particularly difficult. It is best to install the screen from a boat, although you can throw it into the water from the shore. To do this, you can use a kind of "rod" from any suitable rod or branch.

Tackle is placed at the place of feeding or migration of fish, at the border of aquatic vegetation, in small channels, and the like. To attract fish to the TV, some anglers tie some kind of bait in the center of the screen: a piece of cake, a small bag of bread, porridge, and so on.

There is a more original way to lure the fish into the net. This is an ordinary Christmas tree tinsel, pieces of which are tied in different places of the net and attract fish with their brilliance. In this way, you can catch predatory fish.

It must be remembered that tackle called "TV" or "screen" is considered poaching, and the angler using it can be fined.

Currently, many anglers refuse to use such gear. Nevertheless, this method of fishing attracts the attention of fishermen for various reasons.

Here is some of them:
  1. Simplicity.
  2. Availability.
  3. Cheapness.
  4. Mobility.
  5. Versatility.

Given these reasons, we can confidently say that screen fishing will be used in Russian waters for a long time to come.

This unsightly homemade fishing tackle is very popular among fishermen. People call it a "TV" because it is shaped like a TV screen.

How to DIY

The fishing screen has a very simple design, consisting of a rectangular frame measuring 1.5x1.5 meters. The frame is made of any material: wood, metal, etc. The frame is made in such a way that the screen is securely held both in still water and in the current. This tackle requires a load, so many anglers weld a frame of metal rods with a diameter of 6-8mm. The design turns out to be moderately light and interesting: not as massive as it turns out from wooden beams.

  • A woven mesh fabric is attached to a metal or wooden frame. We can immediately say that the thinner the material of the net fabric, the more attractive tackle for fish. The canvas is attached to the frame with a strong artificial thread. In this case, it is necessary to fix each cell of the canvas.
  • There is one caveat here: do not stretch the canvas. The more it sags, the more effective the tackle will be. Loops are formed at the corners of the screen for applying a powerful rope to them, with which the screen is pulled out of the water. The design is as follows: a piece of rope, up to 1.5 meters long, is tied to the loops, after which all four ropes are tied into one knot, and a longer rope is tied to this knot. It allows you to pull the fishing screen out of the water without problems.
  • A load is attached to the bottom of the canvas, which sags the mesh, otherwise the screen will not be effective without it.
  • The fishing screen is cast either from the shore or from a boat. Moreover, the technology of its use is such that it must be suspended in the water column, otherwise there will be no sagging of the network fabric. This is easy to organize from a boat, but if you fish from the shore, you will have to experiment a little. You can tie a long stick to a rope and use it to lower the screen into the water.
  • Screens can be used for catching small fish (for live bait) or large. To catch live bait, you should put a canvas with small cells (up to 20mm), and for catching large fish, you should put a canvas with cells of 35mm or more. To additionally lure fish, you can tie a bait to the bottom of the screen. It can be cake, bread crusts, etc.

    Most fishermen are engaged in fishing with rods out of principle, it is pleasant, interesting and enjoys the process of catching fish. There is also an opposite group of anglers who prefer to get a result, they are either not interested in pleasure at all, or a big catch is the main interest of the fisherman. For everyone who wants to get a good catch without straining, fishing screens are offered. Next, we will talk about how to properly fit a fishing screen, use and tie it manually.

    What is a fishing screen?

    A fishing tackle screen is a device with the same sides along the length (sometimes it has a rectangular shape) that catches unsuspecting fish in the cells. It is classified as a handicraft fishing equipment, it is easy to tie it by hand, and the result will not keep you waiting. The screens are often used by fishermen to catch live bait for predatory fish, they are installed near the shore and already during the collection of gear it is possible to catch from several to ten pieces of small things.

    They often use the screen on different reservoirs, but this is most justified on rivers with a minimum current, on reservoirs with stagnant water. They show themselves most effectively on the warm days of the end of spring and summer, when a trifle comes to the shore to profit. An analogue of this device - a scarf, which is adapted for winter fishing, is made in a triangular shape. The headscarf is lowered into the hole and a float, a piece of wood, is tied to it, signaling the capture of fish.

    It is better to use three-wall fishing screens, as they are stronger than single-walled ones, but also more noticeable to fish.

    Screens are often used to catch live bait for predatory fish.

    Open water screens can be installed in two ways:

    • at a distance from the coast, a boat is used for the delivery of tackle;
    • close to the coast. It is often possible to catch large fish near the dam or when throwing the screen from the bridge near the support columns.

    This specific fishing tackle is easy to use, but you will have to use a swimming tool to get a big catch. With the help of a boat, it is easier to get tackle to a suitable place. Fishing with a screen away from the shore often turns out to be more effective, and near the shore it is possible to catch only small fish, usually in small quantities.

    When making a fishing screen, we recommend that you additionally make a wooden pole to which the rope is attached. At the end of the rope, a hook is fixed that can catch on a floating fishing line. The device makes it easier to remove the screen from the water.

    Is fishing on a fishing screen legal?

    The use of fishing screens (“televisions”) is illegal, and fines are imposed throughout Russia. With the help of the assembled screen, it will not be possible to catch a lot of fish, in terms of catchability, the tackle is inferior to the donk and nets, but even taking this fact into account, Rybnadzor prohibits the use of the device.

    This is a risky tackle that is used at your own peril and risk. Even a small-sized structure made by oneself is subject to fines. During spawning, the law is especially strict, now it is more correct to completely abandon fishing, even for fishing rods.

    Fishing with a screen away from the shore is more effective

    When and where can a fishing screen be used?

    There are no difficulties in using the "TV" for both a beginner in fishing and a seasoned fisherman. If you have a boat, it is better to put the screen into the water, but in extreme cases, a cast from the shore is performed. Those who often fish on the "TV" often make a special fishing rod for the delivery of tackle. When fishing, a long stick becomes an impromptu rod.

    It is better to install fishing nets and screens in the place of prey feeding, it is also effective to install tackle in narrow channels where fish migrate. To increase the effectiveness of the bait, you need to tie a common bait in the center: bread crumb, porridge, cake, etc.

    Anglers have come up with a very unusual method of luring prey with the help of Christmas tree tinsel, its particles are attached on all sides of the net and lure the fish with glare from the falling sun. The method is applicable to peaceful and predatory fish.

    Before calculating a fishing screen, it is important to determine the type of potential prey in the water. Usually medium-sized, medium-sized specimens of the most common fish in the reservoir get into the nets. In the manufacture of the screen, they often rely on the size of a small crucian carp, rudd.

    Despite the moral obsolescence of gear and penalties for fishermen, three-walled fishing screens not equipped are actively sold on the net and are used throughout the country.

    The popularity of the fishing method is due to:

    • ease of manufacture;
    • availability of all elements of gear;
    • low screen cost;
    • high mobility of the fisherman;
    • universal use.

    Because of these advantages, knitting three-walled screens will be popular for more than one year.

    Efficiently set the tackle in the place where the fish are feeding

    Self-made fishing screen

    At the initial stage of mastering fishing, many anglers simply buy tackle in stores or from other fishermen. As the amount of knowledge increases, there is a desire to make devices on their own in order to become independent and save money.

    Before you make a fishing screen with your own hands, it is important to prepare the materials.

    What materials are needed for a homemade fishing screen?

    The following materials will help you manually make fishing screens from fishing line:

    Instructions for making a fishing screen

    It is better to buy a net for tackle, since it takes a long time to weave a net, and the benefit is minimal. If the fisherman prefers to weave on his own, he will have to stock up on fishing line and endurance.

    Fishing line screens can be made by hand

    How to weave a fishing screen from a fishing line:

    1. Initially, we make a delhi - the main part of the grid and screen, a network is assembled from a number of such elements.
    2. At the edges of the deli, they are fixed on a strong rope or wire that acts as a frame.
    3. We carry out the landing of the grid. There are 3 basic types of landing: 1:2, 1:3, 1:15, means fastening the net every 2, 3 and 15 nets.

    It will not be possible to tie a fishing screen with your own hands too large, most often the dimensions fluctuate within 1.5 m2.

    Before assembling a fishing screen, it is important to determine the size of the mesh in the grid. The dimensions of the cell depend on the size of the intended catch:

    • 2 cm - for live bait and small change;
    • 2.5-3.5 cm - for perch and roach;
    • 4-5 cm - for medium crucian and small bream;
    • 12-14 cm - for large pike.

    Making a fishing screen with your own hands:

    Advice! It is not necessary to pull the net tightly on the frame, it is better to tie it with a little looseness, then the fish will not feel the danger at the first touch with the fishing line.

    Tactics and technique of fishing

    There are no special secrets in how to use the fishing screen. "TV" is not the main means of the fisherman, but performs only an auxiliary function: catching live bait fish for a predator, catching small things to prevent unwanted bites and catching small things to attract predatory fish. The screen also helps to catch fish in the ear and is only used last for catching trophy fish.

    How to equip and use the fishing screen:

    • elements are tied in the center or along the edges to attract attention: a garland, a bait;
    • are installed on "fish paths", where prey constantly moves;
    • is thrown in the gap between the algae;
    • hooks along the edges of the screen cannot be used, otherwise the high risk of hooking and stuck fish scares away other peaceful relatives;
    • in the course of knitting the mesh, it is better to use a thin fishing line, which is invisible to the fish eye;
    • you should not use wooden sticks as a frame, as they float up and you have to install a heavy weight.

    How to use the fishing screen there are no special secrets

    Fishing screen installation

    The most promising places for fishing are narrow channels, areas without vegetation on the bottom, places where predators are chasing fry. This is where the screen is best placed. The casting process itself is extremely simple. If a boat is used, it is enough to swim up to the area and smoothly lower the tackle. In the absence of a floating means for casting, a long and strong stick is used, it also simply lowers the “TV”. A similar method - lowering the screen is performed from the bridge and other surface structures.

    How to properly fit a fishing screen:

    1. We take a shuttle and attach a fishing line to it.
    2. We tie the end of the shuttle to the last cell, for which we also tie a pick-up cord.
    3. We thread the shuttle every 3.5 cells (selected individually).
    4. We attach a cell to the cord and continue fastening until the entire mesh is tied to the base.

    And finally, a few tips:

    • tackle is effectively used in the summer, in places where there are no obstacles for mounting the screen;
    • the screen is convenient to use in stagnant water, and during the course the design does not show itself very stable;
    • it is better to mount the bait in the center of the screen or fix it next to the sinker;
    • periodically it is worth throwing bait, careless fish will fall into the net while collecting food;
    • you can’t overdo it with bait, otherwise the fed fish will swim away;
    • some anglers treat their nets with fragrances that attract fish from remote areas of the reservoir.

    There is a very ambiguous opinion about fishing “TVs”: some people love them because of the ease of manufacture and the passive way of getting a catch, but many do not stand “by spirit”, since the tackle is not sports and of little interest. Regardless of opinions, tackle shows a good result, so it will be relevant for a long time.
